Sapper

Sapper
President’s Day weekend 2008 I was watching the Fort Riley news channel where they were featuring a “Pet of the Week” from the post animal shelter. They called this mini-panther “Arrow” and said his time was about up and he needed a home. Of course, I went and adopted him. Adam was deployed so it would be a surprise. We renamed him Sapper.

This handsome house panther has been our little boy since. He has been everywhere with us, watched Max grow up, and acted as caretaker every time we were sick or sad. He has been the best buddy ever. Nearly 19 years young, we knew time wouldn’t last forever, but we were not ready for this past Tuesday when his legs quit working. No surgery could promise a good outcome.

We love you to the moon and back sweet Sapper cat as you cross the rainbow bridge. Give love to Saucy, Lola, Dr. Robert and King David when you get there. We love you so much and will miss you beyond words. Find the best cubbie to snuggle in. We are just broken right now.
