Jackie

Jackie

Jackie was a little cockatiel I rescued from a bad situation. She was skiddish and scared for a long time, even though she was welcome to leave her cage any time she wished. It took awhile for her to trust me, but once she did her life changed, and so did mine. She became a sweet, lovable and affectionate bird who came to love being petted on the head and scratched behind her neck. Losing her was, and still is, so sad. It was a blessing that we both came into each other’s lives, but losing her or any pet, is devastating. Birds are no different from cats and dogs, and are even more sensitive and smart in many cases. She got to live out her life outside of ‘jail’ and use her cage for sleep and when she wanted privacy and security. Otherwise, she was with me and on perches placed in main areas of my home for potty training. I miss her.
