20 Oct Cammi’s Golden Years
We adopted Cammi from Margaret’s Saving Grace Bully Rescue in December of 2020. It would have been 3 years this year. She was about 8 or 9 at the time (she was estimated). Even though I grew up with a lot of dogs and pets, Cammi was truly my first dog. She stood out to me not only because of her personality and demenor, but the minute I saw her picture I thought of the beloved dog from “Little Rascals”. Cammi was the perfect dog and so much more. She was so sweet and loving. Hardly barked. Was so affectionate and patient with the kids. She was my unofficial emotional support dog because she got us through covid, got me to get out of the house more, and was always by our side. She loved making new friends, both two and 4 legged, she loved chicken and eggs (not necessarily in that order) and she was always the best sleeper while snoring very loudly. She could always tell when I was upset and tried to give me extra comfort with her sloppy kisses.
She hadn’t been herself for a few days. The vet believed she either suffered a stroke without us knowing or had a brain tumor. Her recovery was unlikely and due to her age and the state that she was in, it was time to say goodbye. Truly one of the hardest goodbyes of my life.
Cammi, thank you for being there for us these last 3 years. Thank you for picking us as your family and thank you for being my first dog and my best friend. I’m glad we could be a part of your Golden years and I’ll never forget you 🌈🐾
