In Loving Memory of Astra🌈🪽

On October 20, 2026, I said goodbye to my sweet Astra. She passed away peacefully at 16 years old, just 10 days after celebrating her Sweet 16.
Born in Holland, Astra was a Belgian Malinois who proudly served as a United States Secret Service explosive detection dog from September 2013 to November 2021. I had the honor of being her K9 handler, and together, we shared years of trust, teamwork, and unforgettable memories.
Astra was confident, strong, full of personality, and absolutely cray-cray in the best possible way. She always knew how to keep life interesting! She was more than a working dog; she was my partner, my teammate, and a special part of my life.
After years of dedicated service, Astra enjoyed five years of retirement, filled with adventures and a retirement bucket list that kept her busy and living her very best life. She earned every moment of it.
Sixteen years was a beautiful life, but it will never feel long enough. I will forever be grateful for our time together, the memories we made, and the bond we shared.
Rest peacefully, my sweet, cray-cray Astra. Your work is done, your adventures live on in my heart, and your paw prints will never fade. Run free across the rainbow bridge until we meet again. 🙏🏻🌈🪽💔🐾
