Buddy

2/5/2026 we say goodbye to Buddy — and honestly, I don’t think any of us were ever fully prepared for a house without him in it.

Buddy wasn’t a perfect dog, and that’s exactly what made him ours. He was equal parts sweetheart and pain in the ass. He could be stubborn, dramatic, and somehow always knew when he wasn’t supposed to be doing something… and did it anyway. But he was also the dog who had to be near you, who followed you from room to room, who laid by your feet like his whole job in life was just making sure you weren’t alone.

He loved hard. Whether it was begging for food, demanding attention, or squeezing himself into places he didn’t fit just to be next to us, Buddy made sure you knew you were his people. He gave comfort on bad days, excitement on good days, and laughter on the completely normal ones. The house wasn’t just quieter with him — it was happier.

Dogs don’t stay with us nearly long enough, and Buddy definitely left a mark. He was there for routines, for lazy evenings, for chaos, and for milestones. He watched our lives change and somehow became part of every memory along the way. We didn’t just take care of Buddy — he took care of us too, in all the small ways that only pet owners understand.

The hardest part about losing a dog like Buddy is that they never judge you, never hold a grudge, and never stop being happy to see you. You were always his favorite person, no matter what kind of day you had. That kind of love is simple, but it’s also rare.

We’ll miss the sounds of his paws on the floor, the way he stared at us while we ate, the attitude, the affection, and even the trouble he caused. The silence he leaves behind is loud — because he filled so much of our daily life.

Buddy wasn’t “just a dog.”
He was part of our family, part of our routine, and part of our hearts.

Goodbye, Buddy.
You were loved every single day of your life, and you will be missed every single day after.
