A shadow moves where sunlight streams,
A silent paw in fleeting dreams,
My Malinois, my loyal friend,
Your journey’s reached its tender end
With eyes so fierce, yet soft with grace,
You carved your mark in time andspace,
Through fields we ran, through trials we grew,
A bond so deep, so pure, so true
Your bark once echoed, bold and strong,
A guardian’s voice, a wild song,
Now stillness wraps the air I breathe,
A quiet loss I can’t unsheathe
The leash hangs still, the yard’s too wide,
No wagging tail by my side,
But in the wind, I hear your call,
A spirit free, beyond the fall
Oh, Lizzie, fierce and faithful one,
Your watch is done, your race is run,
In stars above, your soul now gleams,
My Malinois, my heart’s sweet dreams.
